Twenty-two TRC athletes—the most in our team's history—had the privilege of joining nearly 11,000 other competitors at this year's Head of the Charles Regatta.
We participated in five events, setting a high standard of performance across all entries. It's goodbye to Boston for now, but our athletes secured three guaranteed entries to compete at HOCR 2026. We can't wait to be back.

Sunday, July 27 marks the conclusion of the Rhine-Ruhr World University Games in Duisberg, Germany. Among the elite collegiate athletes is TRC class of '25 graduate Sarah Knox Harper (right). Sarah Knox was selected to become a part of the USA sculling group in High Point, NC where she trained for a month in the lead-up to competition.
Sitting bow seat in the USA Mixed Quadruple Sculls, Harper and her boat placed fourth in heats to earn a spot in the B final, which they went on to win in a time of 6:59.68.
Sarah Knox joins an increasing number of TRC athletes and graduates with international racing experience. Congratulations Sarah Knox and go TRC!
In what could be considered TRC's most successful Nationals appearance in our history, our athletes threw down on the water in every race over the course of the four-day regatta. From a near-podium finish from our Women's 2- to some courageous fast-starting finals from our men's crews, we showed our quality in Florida across all categories. Team-best Nationals performances were set in the Men's 2- B, Men's Youth 8+, Women's U17 8+, and Men's U17 8+.

Triangle Rowing Club delivered a standout performance at Southeast Regionals, qualifying eight boats for the USRowing Youth National Championships. Among the qualifiers were both Men's Youth 2- entries, Women's Youth 2-, Women's Youth 2V8+, Men's and Women's Youth 8+, and the U17 Men's and Women's 8+.
Three crews brought home silver medals: Men's Youth 2- A, Women's Youth 2-, and Women's U17 8+, while the Men's U17 8+ earned a hard-fought bronze. It was a championship-caliber showing from TRC and a true testament to the program’s depth, speed, and determination.
TRC wrapped the 2025 Dogwood Junior Championships with more medals than we've ever seen before, thanks in large part to team-best performances by our novice and Under-17 athletes. With not one, but TWO men's U17 8s into the grand finals, and both men's pairs atop the podium, this will be a regatta to remember.
We also extend our three-year winning streak in the women's 1x thanks to the strong racing of Ellery Eward.

USRowing announced Annelise Hahl has been selected as this year's USRowing Beach Sprint National Team Female Athlete of the Year.
Annelise Hahl is a four-time national team member, having competed on both the U19 national team and the beach sprint national team. This year, Hahl took gold in the junior women’s solo and junior women’s double sculls events. She also won the single at the 2024 USRowing Youth National Championships. In 2023, Hahl finished second in the women’s solo at the World Rowing Beach Sprint Finals.
Hahl said this about the award, “I am honored and grateful to be selected for the Beach Sprints Female Athlete of the Year. It has been incredible competing with Team USA over the past three years, and it's amazing to finally bring home some gold!”
“I have to thank my family, friends, and the coaches and teammates from Triangle Rowing. They are the foundation that made all this possible.”
Annelise Hahl delivered a standout performance at the 2024 USRowing Youth National Championships, capturing the national title in the Women’s Single (1x). Racing against the country’s top young scullers, Hahl maintained the lead from start to finish to secure her place atop the podium.
